At long, long last, all three of the main political parties are acknowledging that this country must have cuts in public spending. Our PM seems to have taken an awfully long time to come out with it! Of course, it is plain as the light of day that there is no alternative, we have a borrowing deficit of about £80bn - £100bn.

So where will the axe fall: probably in many areas, but will it save the required amount of money? Listening to the Liberal Democrats recently, they have a first cut of only £14bn - the gap is enormous as anybody can see. Assuming that further cuts can be found, and of course they can, are we going to get to the required number? Of course we are not. So what is to come?
